Privacy Policy

Recall stores everything on your own device. It does not send your browsing data, screenshots, searches, or any other information to any server, to us, or to any third party. Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared.

What Recall stores

As you browse, Recall saves the following locally on your device:

• Page address (URL), title, and the readable text of pages you visit
• A small thumbnail screenshot of pages you spend a few seconds on
• The spot where you were reading, so it can take you back there
• Basic information about files you download (name, type, source address)
• If you enable Visual Search, an on-device "fingerprint" of each thumbnail used only for local matching

Where it is stored

All of this is stored only in your browser, on your device. It never leaves your computer. There is no account, no cloud, and no server.

How it is used

The data is used for one purpose: to let you search and reopen pages you have already visited. It is never used for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

What Recall does NOT do

• It does not transmit your browsing activity anywhere.
• It does not record pages that show a password field.
• It does not record sites you add to its block list.
• It does not record search-engine result pages unless you turn that on.
• The optional Visual Search model runs entirely on your device.

Payments

If you purchase Visual Search, the payment is processed by our reseller Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle handles your payment details under its own privacy policy; Recall never sees or stores your card information.

Your controls

• Pause capture — stop recording anytime.
• Blocked sites — list sites Recall must never record.
• Forget / Delete by date / Clear all — remove any or all data.

Uninstalling the extension also removes all stored data.

Children

Recall is not directed to children. Because no data is transmitted to us, no personal data of any user reaches us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
